The late Matteo Messina Denaro who was also known as Diabolik, was a Sicilian Mafia boss from Castelvetrano. He was considered to be one of the new leaders of the Sicilian mob after the arrests of Bernardo Provenzano on 11 April 2006 and Salvatore Lo Piccolo in November 2007.
Messina Denaro is often portrayed as a ruthless playboy mafioso and womanizer, driving an expensive Porsche sports car and wearing a Rolex Daytona watch, Ray Ban sunglasses, and fancy clothes from Giorgio Armani and Versace. He was an ardent player of computer games and is said to be the father of an extramarital child, which is unusual in the conservative culture of the Mafia.

Messina Denaro died at the age of 61 on 24 September 2023, in a hospital after falling into an irreversible coma. He had been receiving treatment for colon cancer, a decision that allegedly resulted in his earlier arrest at a clinic in Palermo.
Messina Denaro’s funeral is going to take place very soon. The family is trying to make every necessary arrangement for his funeral burial to be held.
