Matt Pobereyko is a professional baseball pitcher. He was born on March 22, 1993 in Mishawaka, Indiana, USA. Pobereyko played college baseball at Kentucky Wesleyan College and then transferred to the University of Memphis.
After going undrafted in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft, Pobereyko signed with the Gateway Grizzlies of the Frontier League. He played for the Grizzlies in 2016 and 2017 before being signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. He spent the 2018 season in the Diamondbacks’ minor league system, playing for their Single-A and Double-A affiliates.

Matthew Pobereyko, 31, passed away Friday, February 24, 2023. He is survived by his parents, Paul and Karen Pobereyko, his brother, Danny Pobereyko, his girlfriend, Lauren Quick, and a list of good friends too numerous to count. Matt lived and breathed baseball. He graduated from Bishop Noll Institute in 2010 and attended South Suburban College then later Kentucky Wesleyan College on baseball scholarships. Undrafted as a college senior Matt broke into the professional ranks with the Florence Freedom of the independent Frontier League, before clawing his way into affiliated ball with the Arizona Diamondbacks’ farm system in 2016.
Details of his funeral is not yet out. The grieving family hasn’t disclosed the date and venue of Matt’s funeral.
