Matthew Gogel was born in Denver, Colorado on February 9, 1971. In 1994, he turned pro, and in 2000, he joined the PGA Tour. Gogel became the first player in history to win the Nike Tour four years in a row. After the 2007 AT& T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, he retired.
In 2007, Gogel began working for The Golf Channel as an on-course reporter for its PGA Tour coverage. He also joined CBS Sports Network as a commentator in 2009 and has been with the network ever since.
