A mason found guilty of defiling a primary four student in an incomplete building in Himan-Prestea in the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality by the Tarkwa Circuit Court faces a 15-year prison sentence.
Before sentencing Thomas Aboagye, also known as Mfantse, to fifteen years in hard labor and incarceration, the presiding judge, Mrs. Hathia Ama Manu, cautioned him not to repeat such a heinous deed.
Superintendent of Police Juliana Essel-Dadzie, who is prosecuting the case, stated that the complainant is the child’s grandfather and a farmer. The kid is 10 years old.
She stated that Aboagye, the victim, and the complaint all resided in the same Himan-Prestea neighborhood.
According to Superintendent Essel-Dadzie, Aboagye defiled the girl on Thursday, February 1, 2024, around 1730 hours after giving her GH¢10.00 and luring her inside an incomplete building in the vicinity.
The prosecution claims that Aboagye was having sex with the victim when a witness in the case happened upon him and arrested him.
She stated the convict was detained at the Prestea Police Post, where the matter was reported, and that during questioning, he confessed to the crime.
According to Superintendent Essel-Dadzie, the complainant was given a medical report form to seek medical attention for the victim, and the paperwork was later fully endorsed and returned to the police.
