Maryam Hashemi parents: Who are his father and mother?

Maryam Hashemi, an Iranian visual artist based in Hackney Wick in East London, was born in 1977.

Often working in pencil, watercolor, or acrylic paint. Hashemi grew up in Tehran. She earned a degree in Graphic Design from Islamic Azad University in 2001 and has been living in the United Kingdom since 2002. She is a figurative painter who currently works in the Magical Realist style, though some of her works are closer to Surrealism.

Her subjects are mostly women, and many of her recent works are self-portraits. She is best known for her watercolor and pencil works, but her most recent works include acrylic on canvas, recreations, and installation. She has shown her work in a variety of museums and art galleries, including the London Canal Museum, Watermans Arts Centre, The Broadway, and artsdepot. She has appeared on TV and radio shows such as BBC2 Making Art and has performed at numerous festivals such as the Edinburgh Iranian Festival, the London Persian-English Theatre Festival, and Hackney WickED.
