Martin Laird was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and began his golf career at Kirkintilloch Golf Club before going on to Hilton Park Golf Club as a junior. He began playing golf left-handed but soon shifted to right-handed.
He is a PGA Tour professional golfer from Scotland. In his career, he has won four PGA Tour tournaments, the most recent being the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in 2020.
