Congratulations to Maria Sharapova as she welcomes her first child with her fiance, British businessman Alexander Gilkes.
She uploaded the picture of her, Gilkes, and the newest member of their family on Instagram with the caption, “Theodore VII•I•MMXXII The most beautiful, challenging, and rewarding gift our little family could ask for.”
The tennis player announced the news of her pregnancy on her 35th birthday in April 2022, with a photo of herself and her baby bump on the beach.
She and Gilkes have been in a relationship since 2018. In December 2020, the couple revealed their engagement.
This is just the newest achievement she has, but it is not the only one. During her career, she snagged five Grand Slam titles and was a former world No. 1 tennis player.
However, her tennis career came to an end when she announced her retirement in February 2020.
