Francisco “Paco” Gento López was a Spanish footballer who played as an outside left fo Real Madrid.
The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) ranked Paco Gento as the best Spanish player and the 30th greatest world footballer of the twentieth century
Gento began his career at Racing Santander in 1952 before moving on to Real Madrid the following year. He appeared in a record eight European Cup finals, six of which he won, and he also won 12 La Liga crowns
Gento died on 18 January 2022, at the age of 88.
