Margaret Cox is a former Irish senator and politician. Following the death of her father, Tom Cox, she was co-opted onto the Galway City Council in 1995.
She ran unsuccessfully for Dáil Éireann in Galway West as a Fianna Fáil candidate in 1997 but was elected to the 21st Seanad by the Industrial and Commercial Panel. She was elected to Galway City Council in 1999, topping the ballot in her electoral district.
