According to rumours, Paris Saint-Germain has spoken with Marcus Rashford’s representation as they ponder a surprise late move for the Manchester United attacker.
The French champions have Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar in their assault, but they still want to strengthen their front-line options in preparation for what could be a challenging season.
Hugo Ekitike was already acquired from Reims, but they are now looking to add another dynamic forward to their roster given that Mauro Icardi is coming closer to leaving and Angel Di Maria left on a free transfer.
According to the French newspaper L’Equipe, PSG has made a surprise offer for Rashford and has already spoken with the representative of the England international.
There is a sense that a deal would be feasible despite United’s own lack of offensive options, especially given that Rashford’s current contract is set to expire next summer.
However, the Red Devils have the option to activate an additional one-year extension, which they have written into the contracts of many players. However, some players, most notably Paul Pogba, left on free agency a year later anyhow.
It is unknown if Rashford would be receptive to heading to Paris, but the move to Ligue 1 might give him the opportunity to restart his career after a barren 18 months.
