According to reports, Manchester United has been given the opportunity to sign Real Madrid forward Marco Asensio before the summer transfer window closes.
The Red Devils are still negotiating a contract to sign Ajax forward Antony, but Erik ten Hag, the head coach, is also keen to expand his offensive options, so another attacker may join the team before the deadline.
This summer, there has been a lot of talk about Asensio’s future, with teams like AC Milan, Liverpool, and Arsenal rumored to be interested in the Spain international.
Man United has reportedly been given the opportunity to sign Asensio, who is reportedly available for around around £25 million, according to The Telegraph.
The versatile forward is thought to have come up during the Red Devils’ Casemiro discussions with Real Madrid, and he is considered as a potential alternative before the transfer window ends.
On Thursday, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said that the Spaniard is considering leaving the Bernabeu.
However, Asensio’s current contract is set to expire in June of next year, and there aren’t any ongoing negotiations at the club about a potential extension.
Since joining Los Blancos from Mallorca in 2014, the attacker has made 236 appearances, scoring 49 goals and registering 24 assists while winning three La Liga championships and three Champions League triumphs.
