A professional tennis player by the name of Marcel Granollers was born in Spain on April 12, 1986. He reached his highest position in the singles category, No. 19, in July 2012, and the doubles category, No. 4, in February 2013. Granollers has won five Challenger doubles titles, as has his tennis-playing brother Gerard.

Granollers has won four ATP singles titles and 24 ATP doubles titles, including the 2012 ATP World Tour Finals. He reached the men’s doubles finals in the 2014 French Open, 2014, 2019, and 2021 Wimbledon Championships.

At Wimbledon in 2006, Granollers was defeated by Andrei Pavel in the opening round. In the opening rounds, he overcame Marco Chiudinelli, Konstantinos Economidis, and Stéphane Robert.

Granollers and Zebalos, who advanced to the semifinals of the year-end championships in 2020 and 2021, have advanced to their third consecutive ATP finals. It was Granollers’ seventh participation.

Granollers’ impressive doubles record is the product of his effective net play and a solid serve. Despite his typically mediocre technical abilities, his weak groundstrokes are underpowered with low takebacks on both wings, but they nonetheless provide a serviceable defensive framework. In addition, he is well known for his loud grunting, which is so irritating when playing games that it often draws criticism and accusations of cheating.
