Soviet and Russian jurist who served as 3rd Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Russia from 1997 to 2003 Marat Viktorovich Baglai has died. He died on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the age of 92.

However, Marat Viktorovich Baglai was born to his parents on March 13, 1931, and was raised in Baku, Azerbaijan SSR, Transcaucasian SFSR, Soviet Union. He graduated from the law faculty of Rostov State University in 1954.
From 1957 to 1962 he worked as a researcher at the Institute of State and Law of the Academy of Sciences. From 1962 to 1967 he was an Associate Professor at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO).
