Mantas Kvedaraviius was a renowned filmmaker, anthropologist, and archaeologist who was born on August 28, 1976 in Biržai, Lithuanian.

Kvedaraviius earned a PhD in social anthropology from the University of Cambridge and doubled as an Associate Professor at the Vilnius University.

He was best remembered for his film Mariupolis, which aired at the 2016 Berlin International Film Festival.

While attempting to flee Mariupol after work duties, the invaders assassinated the Lithuanian director and author of the documentary Mariupolis.
