Following speculations, Frenkie de Jong is certain that he will leave Barcelona only if he can join Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window.
Manchester United and Chelsea are both interested in signing the Dutch midfielder.
The 25-year-old Dutchman may believe he has become the sacrificial lamb for Barcelona’s financial problems and FFP problems. The Catalan powerhouses’ problems have been alleviated by the activation of economic levers.
However, Barcelona cannot sign new players until they sell a few players and reduce their wage bill. As a result, Frenkie de Jong, Barcelona’s most valuable asset, has entered the picture.
At the same time, de Jong is set to earn more starting in the 2022/23 season after Barcelona deferred his wages due to the club’s financial difficulties.
With Barca owing him approximately €17 million in payments, the player is understandably hesitant to leave.
Interestingly with all the juicy offers coming in from most of the big European clubs such as Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, with both clubs interested in signing him.
De Jong, however, prefers Bayern Munich to Manchester United, Chelsea, or Paris Saint-Germain.
