Manchester United is reportedly not a compelling offer to Frenkie de Jong. The Red Devils have made a £71.5 million bid for the 25-year-old midfielder, but he has persistently delayed the transfer.
However, for a number of reasons, De Jong wants to stay at his dream club, Barcelona, and United may not be able to convince him to join the Premier League.
The Dutch star, who recently spent £4 million on a home in the city, is content in Catalonia. He has happily settled and looking forward to a bright future with his fiancée Mikky Kiemeney, to whom he recently became engaged.
Due to the fact that De Jong cannot play for United in the Champions League, there is also little incentive to sign with the Red Devils.
Moreover, reports are that De Jong did not have a special bond with Erik ten Hag while the two were at Ajax, making the idea of working with the former manager less than appealing.
United would be able to pay De Jong more, but the team has been in chaos, and a major overhaul is required. De Jong would ostensibly prefer to remain and contend for his position at the Nou Camp.
