The ex-husband of a woman has identified the body that was discovered in a hotel in Yola, the capital city of Adamawa State.
The woman had been taken by an alleged ritual killer to the Happy Day Guest Inn, where she was decapitated and her head was secretly removed.
The deceased’s ex-husband, Auwal Garba, verified to the Adamawa State Police Command on Friday night that his wife, Bilkisu Idi, was his spouse until last month. Bilkisu Idi was murdered on Thursday, January 18, at the Happy Day Guest Inn.
The public relations officer for the Adamawa State Police Command, Suleiman Nguroje, gave an update on the incident and stated that Auwal Garba had disclosed that Bilkisu was his wife, whom he had wed approximately six years prior.
Claiming to have added, Garba said that he divorced her in December 2023, ending their happy marriage that had produced a child.
The deceased, according to him, even called him the day before she was killed, requesting to speak with her child, but he informed her that the child was with his grandmother.
