kkEliza Fletcher’s family had offered a $50,000 (£43,000) reward for information leading to the arrest of whoever was guilty of her abduction.

A man has been accused in connection with the disappearance of a missing Tennessee heiress who was reportedly kidnapped and forced into an SUV while running.

Eliza Fletcher, 34, has been missing since Friday morning when she went for her usual morning run near the University of Memphis.

Cleotha Abston, 38, was charged with exceptionally aggravated kidnapping and tampering with evidence in the disappearance of Ms Fletcher on Sunday, according to the Memphis Police Department.

The development comes after the woman’s family offered a $50,000 (£43,000) reward through Crimestoppers on Friday night in exchange for information leading to the arrest of those guilty of her abduction.

Despite the fact that Ms Fletcher has not been located, Memphis police stated in an arrest document that they had information that leads them to suspect she was gravely harmed in the kidnapping near the university campus.

Ms Fletcher’s family said “We look forward to Eliza’s safe return and hope that this award will help the police capture those who committed this crime,”
