Black Stars midfielder, Majeed Ashimeru, is set to extend his contract with Belgian side Anderlecht for an additional two years as he aims to repay the club’s faith in him.

Despite suffering from recurring injuries last season, which limited his playing time to just 12 league games, the 26-year-old is eager to make a strong comeback in the upcoming season. His latest setback came at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where an injury almost sidelined him for the rest of the season.

Acknowledging that it wasn’t his best season, Ashimeru expressed his gratitude towards Anderlecht for their continuous support. He stated, “I’m very happy. I must say, because I’ve been here for two and a half years and I feel at home. The supporters, the team, and everyone in it, make me feel really good.”

Following positive discussions with the club’s board, Ashimeru is looking forward to making a significant impact in the upcoming season. Despite facing setbacks due to injuries, he remains determined to repay Anderlecht’s confidence in him by delivering strong performances on the field.
