A running partner for the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, will be revealed to the Ghanaian people by the end of March, according to Dr. Joseph Yammin, national organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress.
Dr. Yammin stated that the party was adhering to a calendar that states that the NDC should finish structures to pick its vice presidential candidate by March, at the latest, in an interview with Kojo Marfo, host of Abusua FM’s morning show, on Abusua Nkommo.
He claims that the manifesto will be released in order to prepare the ground for the official campaign to begin as soon as the running mate is revealed.
Asunafo South M.P. Eric Opoku, twice defeated flagbearer candidate Kojo Bonsu, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, the 2020 running mate; former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah; the former Managing Director of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Kwame Awuah Darko; and former NPA boss Alex Mold have emerged as likely candidates for the position.
The most recent additions to the list of suspected contenders are Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of the Asogli State, and economist and former NDPC boss Dr. Nii Moi Thompson.
He continued by saying that the NDC had a plan to pursue and an election to win, and that the party of their opponent, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, was not bothering them.
Disregarding Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s independence, he urged voters to view any NPP vote as a “Vote Bawumia, get Nana Addo free.”
