Today, March 22, former president John Mahama is slated to discuss the ethical and transparent financing of political campaigns.
“Financing political campaigns in Ghana we want: A case for more transparent and widespread citizen participation,” will be the focus of the program.
It will take place from 5 to 10 p.m. at the UPSA auditorium.
On Wednesday, Mr. Mahama said on Facebook that he feels optimistic about the occasion.
I’m excited for this evening’s UPSA discussion on the ethical and transparent financing of political campaigns in advance of the 2024 elections.
In addition, the former president said he would take advantage of the event to “present my campaign funding platform to illustrate how politicians generally and political parties may broaden and make their sources of finance more transparent.”
He then thanked the organizers for their efforts.
“My appreciation is extended to my friends in civil society who have collaborated with my team to realize this dream,”
Mr. Mahama has formally turned in his candidacy paperwork to run for flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress.
