The Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has expressed his lack of confidence in the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), former President John Dramani Mahama, stating that he has nothing to offer the people of Ghana.
During a press conference held on Friday, April 19, the Effutu lawmaker highlighted Mr. Mahama’s previous track record as Vice President and President, suggesting that Ghanaians would not choose him in the upcoming election. Afenyo-Markin emphasized that the NDC candidate had already served as Vice President for three and a half years and as President for four and a half years, making him a known entity to the electorate.
In Afenyo-Markin’s view, the prospect of a Mahama presidency would lack urgency due to the limitation of one term, potentially leading to internal party conflicts and a lack of stability in government. He contrasted this with Vice President Dr. Bawumia, whom he believes offers a more promising future for the country.
