The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency, Lydia Seyram Alhassan, has once again shown her commitment to supporting the youth by providing funding for the free transportation home of Level 100 students of the University of Ghana.
This gesture, according to the MP, is part of her ongoing efforts to connect with the students and provide them with much-needed assistance. On Saturday, April 20, students from various regional capitals, including Tamale, Kumasi, and Takoradi, benefited from this initiative.
Explaining her motivation behind the gesture, Lydia Seyram Alhassan said, “Most of them try to work hard to take care of themselves through school and around this time there is something they call ‘Wahala Week’s, they run out of many things. As a mother, I come in every now and then to support, so this is just one of the supports I give to our students who are in need. They have to go back home and things are tight for them.”
The transportation provided consisted of buses from VIP with passenger capacities ranging between 35 and 50, ensuring that the students could travel comfortably and safely back to their homes.
The students who benefited from this kind gesture expressed their gratitude towards the MP, with one student, Fati Bintu Musah, saying, “She has provided free bus for us and we say Almighty Allah bless her and increase her in riches so that she will do more of this.”
