Legendary English actress, comedian, and singer, professionally known as Lynda Baron, dies at the age of 82.  The phenomenal actress is best known for her portrayal and iconic role as Auntie Mabel in the award-winning children’s series Come Outside (1993–1997).

Baron was born on 24 March 1939 in Urmston, Lancashire. Following this sad news, a number of celebrating are sharing their condolences to the family on social media, with Donna French saying “We extend our deepest condolences to her daughter Sarah, her son Morgan and all her family,”

Some of her most iconic performances include Nurse Gladys Emmanuel in the BBC comedy series Open All Hours (1976–1985), and its sequel, Still Open All Hours (2013–2016). She also played the part of Linda Clarke in EastEnders in 2006 and from 2008 to 2009, she later returned briefly in 2016.

She was nominated for British Academy Television Award for Best Supporting Actress. Baron married John M. Lee in 1966, and the couple had two children named Sarah and Morgan.
