Lydia Shum was a Chinese-born Hong Kong comedian, MC, actress, and singer, recognized for her stocky build, dark-rimmed spectacles, and bouffant hairdo. She was born on July 21, 1945, and died on February 19, 2008. Fei-Fei was her nickname among her classmates and fans.

Shum began his career in the Hong Kong entertainment industry when he was 13 years old, in 1958. She made her film debut in 1960, at the age of 15, when she joined Shaw Brothers as an actor.

After 11 years of dating, Shum married actor and singer Adam Cheng Siu-chow in January 1985.

Shum has a daughter called Joyce Cheng Yan-yee. She is a Hong Kong-based Canadian singer, songwriter, and actor.

She weighed 226.5 pounds at an early age. Cheng began a severe workout routine at the age of 16 in order to address her weight difficulties. Her workout routine was documented in her book, My Weight Loss Diary.

Cheng performed Snow White at the Hong Kong Disneyland opening ceremony in 2005.

Lydia Shum, a late Hong Kong actress, was Sung’s brother.
