Luri Lapicus was a professional MMA fighter from Moldova who participated in the ONE Championship’s lightweight category. Luri Lapicus was born in Chisinau, Moldova, on January 22, 1995. Lapicus began his martial arts experience at a young age, beginning with karate at the age of six.

He later switched to kickboxing before making his way to MMA. In 2014, he made his professional debut and rapidly established himself as one of Europe’s top talents. Lapicus signed with ONE Championship, one of Asia’s top MMA promotions, in 2019. He made his promotional debut at ONE: Reign of Valor, defeating Shannon Wiratchai by first-round submission.

Luri Lapicus cause of death: How did Luri Lapicus die?

Luri Lapicus, a ONE Championship fighter, died Monday in Italy from injuries incurred in a motorbike accident last week, the company revealed to ESPN.
He was 27.

“The ONE Championship team is heartbroken over the tragic passing of Iuri Lapicus,” the promotion wrote in a statement. “Our thoughts and prayers go out to his loved ones at this difficult time.”

According to Milano Today, Lapicus smashed his motorbike into a vehicle driven by a woman in northwest Milan on Friday and had to be taken to a hospital in the city via helicopter. According to sources, Lapicus was in a coma until Monday.
