In New York, on September 5, 2009, Luke David Blumm was born. A family of actors runs in his veins. Acting came naturally to Luke because he enjoys making up stories and pretend games.

Ivan Kavanagh, the director, reportedly interviewed 500 children for the part of David in the film SON. He claimed to have seen several competent actors but didn’t desire a polished “Hollywood” performance.
He was looking for an actor whose manner both on and off camera would be identical. He knew he had discovered what he was looking for the moment he saw Luke’s audition tape.
Before his parents ultimately gave up, Luke pleaded with them for six months to allow him to begin applying.
He was required to improvise a scene with Judd Apatow during his audition for The King Of Staten Island.
They staged an improvisation around a comic book character Luke had invented when he was five years old called “Iceflash,” and Judd liked it so much they asked Luke if they could incorporate Iceflash into the plot.
In order to make his role more convincing, he examined medical recordings of patients having grand mal seizures while rehearsing for the film SON.
