He had a fairly young age when he began his career. He started playing organized basketball at a primary school in Ljubljana when he was seven years old. LeBron James, an American basketball player, was a hero to Luka Doncic as a child.
He excelled as a young player for Union Olimpija before joining the Real Madrid junior system. In 2015, at the age of 16, he made his senior squad debut for the academy, making that the youngest debut in club history.
