Tory Lanez is a Canadian rapper and record producer. The mixtape Conflicts of My Soul: The 416 Story, which was released in August of 2013, was largely responsible for bringing him his first notoriety. Tory Lanez became a member of the Mad Love Records family in 2015 after signing a deal with record producer Benny Blanco’s label through Interscope Records.

The mother of Tory Lanez, Luella Peterson, was born on the island of Curacao, which is part of the Dutch Caribbean. She ultimately settled down in Canada, and it was there that she met her future husband. After that, the couple moved to the United States.

Lanez was still a child when Peterson passed away while he was only an adult. According to Vogue, “At the age of 11, Tory discovered that his mother was ill with a rare disease that affects four out of every one million people.” Tory found this out about his mother when he was 11.

Although we are unsure of the disease’s actual name, we do know that anemia was the root cause of the condition. Tory Lanez had a strong bond with his mother and frequently brings up his memories of her in the course of his interviews (see one below).
