Right after the competition, Lucas was promoted to the club’s professional team together with other outstanding players Léo Duarte, Felipe Vizeu, and Ronaldo.
Lucas Paqueta, a playmaker for Lyon, has been acquired by West Ham in a club-record $51 million move.
The Brazilian midfielder is now David Moyes’ ninth summer acquisition, bringing the Hammers’ overall transfer expenditure to well than £150 million.
West Ham has been successful in acquiring a Brazil international with real pedigree despite Lyon’s customary tough negotiating. Paqueta has been a rare bright spot for Lyon in recent years and was a significant factor in Brazil’s 2021 Copa America victory.
