American actress and performer Liza Minnelli is best known for her Oscar-winning performance in Cabaret in 1972, as well as her roles in Arthur in 1981 and multiple successful albums.

Later in life, she made her pop breakthrough in 1989 when she collaborated with the Pet Shop Boys, and after a sabbatical owing to health issues, she returned to the stage in 2002, making cameo appearances in the comedy Arrested Development.

She has become a homosexual icon for her flamboyant stage presence and strong alto singing voice.

Vincente Minnelli was an American stage director and film director, was born February 28, 1903. Meet Me in St. Louis (1944), An American in Paris (1951), The Band Wagon (1953), and Gigi (1954) are among his best film musicals (1958).

An American in Paris and Gigi were both nominated for Academy Awards for Best Picture, with Gigi’s director Vincente

Minnelli winning Best Director. Minnelli directed several comedies and melodramas in addition to directing some of the most well-known musicals of his time.

From 1945 to 1951, he was married to Judy Garland with whom he had a daughter, Liza Minnelli. he died on  July 25, 1986.

Her mother was one of the most famous actresses of the twentieth century.

Garland suffered from her personal life since she was a child. From the time she was a teenager, the stresses of early popularity had an impact on her physical and mental health; her self-image was molded by continual criticism from film executives who considered she was physically unappealing and altered her on-screen physical appearance.

She struggled with alcohol and substance abuse throughout her adult life, as well as financial insecurity, sometimes owing hundreds of thousands of dollars in past taxes.

Her prolonged drug abuse culminated to her death in London in 1969 at the age of 47 from an accidental drug overdose.
