Argentine-born soccer player Leo Messi, commonly known as Lionel Messi, has won six FIFA world player of the year honours. He goes by Lionel Andrés Messi in full. He was born in Rosario on June 24, 1987. (2009–12, 2015, and 2019).
When he was a young boy, Messi started playing football, and in 1995, he joined Newell’s Old Boys youth squad. a top-tier football team with its home base in Rosario. Messi’s exceptional skills drew the attention of top clubs on both sides of the Atlantic. When Messi was 13 years old, his family relocated to Barcelona, and he began participating in FC Barcelona’s under-14 team.
In 14 games for the young team, he scored 21 goals. In a friendly match at the age of 16, he made his unofficial FC Barcelona debut after quickly moving up through the higher-level squads.
Despite holding dual citizenship and enjoying professional success in Spain, Messi’s ties to his native Argentina remained strong, and since 2005, he has been a key member of a number of different Argentine national teams.
On August 10, Messi agreed to a deal with Paris Saint-Germain. He signed a two-year contract with a one-year option that is valid through June 2023. As he did for Barcelona when he made his senior debut as a teenager, Messi chose the number 30 for his team.
