He appeared in almost seventy films and television series. In 1995, he wrote and directed Pugili, an award-winning boxing film.

He got a special David di Donatello acting award for his performance in Vittorio de Sica’s 1970 film The Garden of the Finzi-Continis.

For three seasons, Capolicchio provided the voice of Bo Duke in the Italian broadcasts of The Dukes of Hazzard.

He was 78.
