Lilia Buckingham was born on April 9, 2003, in Beverly Hills, California, to Jane and Marcus Buckingham. Her parents were married in 1996 and divorced two decades later in 2017.
Her father Marcus is an English author, motivational speaker, and business consultant.
Her mother Jane, is an American author and businesswoman who founded the consumer insights firm Trendera. She is best known for her book series “The Modern Girl’s Guide to Life”, which led to the television series of the same name.
Jane was caught up in a college admissions bribery scandal and was arrested on March 12, 2019. Without her son, Jack’s knowledge or consent, she donated $50,000 to the college counseling firm Key Worldwide Foundation. This was in order to arrange for a proctor to take the ACT for Jack.
On October 23, 2019, she was sentenced to 21 days in prison, a $40,000 fine, and one year of supervised release.
