Kumawood actor Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lil Win, and his management, Weezy Empire, have issued an apology following backlash from Ghanaians over a previous statement.

The earlier communication from Weezy Empire had rejected accusations of neglect towards victims of Lil Win’s accident, deeming the allegations as “unwarranted” and “distasteful”. This response sparked outrage as many found it insensitive towards the bereaved family.

However, after reflecting on the feedback, Lil Win and his management have expressed regret for their initial statement, clarifying that it was not their intention to cause distress to the family of the deceased three-year-old boy.

As a gesture of respect towards the memory of the young boy who tragically lost his life in the accident involving Lil Win, the actor has decided to postpone the premiere of his movie, “A Country Called Ghana,” which was scheduled for June 1 in Sunyani.

The new date for the movie premiere will be communicated to patrons who have already purchased their tickets, which will remain valid for the rescheduled event. The decision to postpone the premiere was made to join in mourning with the family of the deceased boy and show empathy during this difficult time.

The press release issued by Weezy Empire on May 29 also included an apology for any unintended distress caused by their previous communication. The management team expressed their understanding that the statement may have been perceived as insensitive and assured the public of their remorse.

In light of the sensitive situation, Lil Win and his team are taking the necessary steps to show compassion and solidarity with the affected family, demonstrating their commitment to acknowledging and addressing the concerns raised by the public.
