On Wednesday night (September 7), Robert Lewandowski scored his first hat-trick for Barcelona on his Champions League debut. The 34-year-old Polish national simply can’t stop scoring goals.
He scored three goals against Viktoria Plzen to maintain his impressive performance since joining the team and made history in the most prestigious competition in Europe.
Lewandowski is the first player to ever score a hat trick for three separate football clubs in the Champions League.
He had one for Borussia Dortmund, four for Bayern Munich, and now one for Barcelona.
Undoubtedly he has become one of the dangermen in front of goal and his boss Xavi won’t regret his acquisition.
After 34 minutes, Robert Lewandowski scored with a beautiful finish to make it 2-0 after Franck Kessie’s opening goal. The second goal came from Lewandowski, who headed in a wonderful cross from Ousmane Dembele at the back post.
The summer acquisition from Barcelona then gave the hosts their third goal of the game with another outstanding finish, looping past the goalie from the edge of the penalty area.
Tuesday’s (September 13) Champions League matchup between Barcelona and Lewandowski’s former team, Bayern Munich, is the next big game you can’t afford to miss.
