Pastor Dr. Solomon Okoe Trebi Hammond, President of the Accra City Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA), has urged Ghanaians to seek peace, love, and unity before, during, and after the elections.
He emphasized that following the biblical ideals of loving one’s neighbor as oneself, loving one another, and having a solid personal relationship with God were the best means to achieve national peace.
“I must do what is right, love my neighbor, and follow God’s commandments.
He said, “If everyone acts in unison, there will be peaceful neighborhoods, which will lead to a peaceful nation and peaceful elections as well.
At the opening of the renovated church building of the SDA Church’s Labone branch, Pastor Hammond offered counsel.
He stated that without peace, people, communities, and the nation as a whole could not grow and progress. He urged everyone to live in harmony and show tolerance, and respect for the opinions of others for the sake of the nation.
The GH¢1.5 million facility’s opening signified the end of a four-year project that started in October 2019 for modifications and renovations. The project took four years to complete in four phases.
A new roof was installed, and the interior of the church was remodeled (new ceiling installed, building rewired, glazed windows and doors installed, air conditioning units fixed, and new sound equipment installed).
