He served as the first president of Ukraine after independence. Leonid Kravchuk served from December 5, 1991 to July 19, 1994.
Leonid Kravchuk was the leader of the Social Democratic Party of Ukraine from 1994 to 2009. Until his death, he was still actively involved in the politics of Ukraine.
He was born into a not so wealth family. Leonid Kravchuk have his date of birth to be January 10, 1934. He was born in Ζytyn, Poland which is now modern day Velykyi Zytyn in Ukraine.
