Leon Vitali was an English actor who will be best remembered as a long-time collaborator with film director Stanley Kubrick.
He was reported dead on August 20, 2022. He was 74.
His friend and business partner Kubrick announced his demise on his official Twitter page.
It read, “It is with the greatest of sadness that we have to tell you that the mainstay of a vast number of Kubrick’s films, Leon Vitali, passed away peacefully last night. Our thoughts are with his family and all that new and loved him.”
His net worth before his passing stood at an estimated amount of $53 million.
The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art was Vitali’s school of choice. In the early 1970s, he appeared as a guest star in several TV shows.
He made his big-screen debut in the 1973 films Italian Super Bitch and Catholics. Cinematographer Vitali collaborated with Sergio Leone on the Dollars Trilogy.
In the film Barry Lyndon, Vitali portrayed the stepson of the titular character, Lord Bullingdon.
Stanley Kubrick and Vitali first crossed paths in 1974, and they remained colleagues for the remainder of Kubrick’s career.
