Leonard Ray Dawson is famous for being an American football quarterback.  He played in the National Football League and also, the American Football League.

Dawson started playing as a professional in 1957 with the Pittsburgh Steelers of the NFL. Later, he joined the Cleveland Browns.

The famous football quarterback player was diagnosed with prostate cancer. His family made it public, a few months before his demise.

He was born as the seventh son on June 20, 1935 in Alliance, Ohio, United States. His parents had eleven children in all. Dawson was married to his high school lover from 1954 until her sad demise in 1978. The couple had two children. Eventually he married a second wife after the death of his first wife.

In 1991, Dawson was diagnosed with prostate cancer, which led to his death on August 24, 2022.  His death was shortly after his family announced that he was in a care facility.
