Lemanu Palepoi Sialeg Mauga (born January 3, 1960) is an American Samoan politician who has served as American Samoa’s eighth governor since January 3, 2021. Mauga, a Democrat, served in the American Samoa Senate, where he became head of both the Budget and Appropriations Committee and the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
Mauga was born in American Samoa’s Nu’uuli. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Hawaii at Mnoa after attending American Samoa Community College. On July 30, 2012, he graduated from San Diego State University with a master’s degree in public administration at the Governor H. Rex Lee Auditorium in American Samoa.
