Leigh-Anne Pinnock, an English singer, actress, and songwriter, was born on October 4, 1991. She became well-known in the 2010s as a member of Little Mix, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. She put out six studio albums with Little Mix and had five singles that peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart.
While in Little Mix, Pinnock released her documentary Leigh-Anne: Race, Pop, and Power (2021), which received critical acclaim. It received a nomination for “Best Authored Documentary” at the 26th National Television Awards. In the same year, she made her acting debut in Boxing Day, which became the first British seasonal rom-com to include an all-black ensemble. Aside from music, she is well-known for her anti-racism advocacy, and in 2020, she was awarded the Equality Award for her contributions to racial equality in the United Kingdom.
Pinnock obtained a record deal with Warner Records in February 2022 and spent time in the UK and Jamaica creating her debut album. Her demo music was later released online before being taken down. In July 2022, she joined the social media app Twitter and declared that she will release her solo song when she is ready. Pinnock attended and spoke at the One Young World Summit in Manchester in September 2022.
