According to certain reports and testimonials from his colleagues, comic book creator Lee Moder, who collaborated with Geoff Johns to co-create the Courtney Whitmore Stargirl in 1999, has gone dead.
A family acquaintance was mentioned by the source (informer) as saying that Moder passed away peacefully at home on or before January 15th. His cause of death was not disclosed. Lee Moder was 53.

Moder spent over three decades working in the comics industry. He illustrated Wonder Woman and books like Legion of Super-Heroes for DC during that time. Additionally, he contributed illustrations to Dynamite’s Highlander and Red Sonja issues as well as Marvel’s X-Factor, CrossGen’s Scion, and the Boom! Studios anthology Zombie Tales.
Together with me, Lee co-created Courtney and her universe, as well as S.T.R.I.P.E., a new take on the Pat Dugan Stripesy of the 1940s. He personified all the warmth, strength, beauty, and humor that went into his work. We had a great time. Lee Moder’s death caused the industry to lose a brilliant talent.
