American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers, LeBron James has described late NFL legend John Madden as a GOAT and says his legacy will live forever.

LeBron James, 36, made this known via his official Twitter page on Tuesday, December 28.

John Madden passed away Tuesday evening at the age of 85.

The NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said John Madden’s death came ‘unexpectedly’.

In a press statement, Roger said: “Nobody loved football more than Coach. He was football. He was an incredible sounding board to me and so many others.”

“There will never be another John Madden, and we will forever be indebted to him for all he did to make football and the NFL what it is today,” he concluded.

Reacting to the sad news, LeBron James took to Twitter to describe Madden as a GOAT (using the famous white goat emoji) and added that his legacy will forever reign forever (he used an infinity emoji to explain this as well).

“Rest in Paradise To the Goat John Madden!!!! Your legacy will continue to live on Infinity!!!!!” LeBron James tweeted.

John Madden is survived by his wife Virginia Madden and two children; Joseph Madden and Michael Madden.
