Leandro De Niro Rodriguez was born to his mother, Drena De Niro, who is a Model, Actress, and Filmmaker. She is the adopted child of the iconic Hollywood actor Robert De Niro. She became part of his family after he got married to her mother, Diahnne Abbott, in 1976. Unfortunately, the pair divorced in 1988, over a decade of being married.
Drena developed an interest in the entertainment industry as she was mostly around her father’s film set. Drena started as a model and later became a fashion consultant. Following her interest in both music and fashion, she started working for Giorgio Armani and occupied the position of a musical supervisor, which saw her spend more time behind the scene coordinating runway shows.
Drena earned her first role in the film “Girl and Dolls.” Asides from just starring in the movie, she was also given credit for writing and directing the film. Following this, she earned the 2001 Best Directorial Debut Award at the New York Independent Film/Video Festival.
