Leah Rogan was a teenager from Dalkeith, Midlothian who died on Saturday, April 30.

She was known as The Lioness by her loved ones due to her strength and had a smile that “lit up any room she walked into”.

The 17-year-old was an ardent footballer and used to coach the Dalkeith Thistle Community Football Club under 10s.

Her friends have taken to social media since her death, to pay tribute to the youngster who put a smile on everyone’s face.

Tributes have poured in for the Scots teen who sadly lost her battle with cancer.

One friend, Sophie Smith, shared images of the two together on Facebook on Sunday, writing: “Never thought I’d be here writing this post.

“Yesterday our warrior Leah grew her wings, the most beautiful girl with the kindest heart.

The Dalkeith Thistle Community Football Club also paid their tribute in a statement released Sunday, saying: “It’s with a heavy heart that I share this news.

She was 17 years of age.

Leah Rogan passed away after being diagnosed with Ewing sarcoma three years ago.

Ewing sarcoma is a very rare form of cancerous tumor which grows in bones or their surrounding soft tissue.

It mainly affects young people and children but it can also be seen in adults.

Rogan’s parents and siblings are still devastated at her loss.

She was a lovable human indeed.

When is Leah funeral?

Leah’s funeral is expected soon.

A close friend of Rogan, Hannah Forbes, set up a GoFundMe page yesterday to give Rogan a special send-off and help her family with any costs.

The fundraiser exceeded its £10,000 target within hours and currently sits at £16,000 and still counting.
