The legendary Hollywood movie producer Lawrence Turman died Saturday at the Motion Picture and Television Country Home and Hospital at age 96. At the moment, his cause of death has not been revealed.

Oscar-nominated producer Lawrence Turman does not share any information about his parents before his death. Turman’s Hollywood career spanned 50 years and included work on more than 30 films, including The Great White Hope, Pretty Poison, and American History X.
He also served as the chair of USC’s Peter Stark Producing program from 1991 until he retired in 2021, A graduate of UCLA, Turman began his career as an agent before moving into producing, including working on Judy Garland’s last film, 1963’s I Could Go On Singing.
Turman was the mastermind behind the romantic-comedy movie The Graduate, released in 1967. The movie was nominated for Best Picture at The Oscars. In 2017, Turman told Little White Lies: “I was famous after The Graduate for about 20 minutes.
