Martin Charles Scorsese was born in the US on November 17, 1942. He is a screenwriter, producer, director, and actor. The Flushing neighbourhood of the Queens borough of New York City is where Martin Scorsese was born. Before he began school, his family relocated to Little Italy in Manhattan. Charles Scorsese and Catherine Scorsese (née Cappa), Scorsese’s parents, both worked in the Garment District of New York City.

He has won a number of notable honours, including the 2007 Kennedy Center Honor, an Academy Award, a Grammy Award, three Emmy Awards, and four British Academy Film Awards. The National Film Registry now includes five of his movies that the Library of Congress has deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically noteworthy.”
