Lara Parker, an American actress best known by her stage name Mary Lamar Rickey, was born on October 27, 1938, in Knoxville, Tennessee. She is best remembered for her role as Angelique in the 1966–1971 ABC television series Dark Shadows.
She started her undergraduate studies in philosophy at Vassar College before obtaining her bachelor’s in the humanities from Rhodes College (formerly known as Southwestern) and a master’s in the humanities in speech and theatre from the University of Iowa.
Parker played “Laura Banner” in The Incredible Hulk (1977)’s opening sequence and “Madelaine,” a fashion model and witch, in “The Trevi Collection,” a Kolchak: The Night Stalker episode.
Parker made her Broadway debut in 1968 in the Don C. Liljenquist-written and -directed play Woman is My Idea. In a 1969 Off-Broadway production of Frank Wedekind’s play, she played the lead role of Lulu. She also appeared in the off-Broadway production of A Gun Play.
In 1998, Parker published Angelique’s Descent. The follow-up, Dark Shadows: The Salem Branch, was published in July 2006, and the third volume, Dark Shadows: Wolf Moon Rising, was published in August 2013.
