Elizabeth Woolridge Grant, also known as Lana Del Rey, is an American singer-songwriter who was created on June 21, 1985, by Patricia Ann and Robert England Grant Jr. She relocated to New York City in 2005 in order to further her musical career. Her Rey’s breakthrough occurred in 2011 with the viral success of her song, Video Games, after she had previously dropped a number of projects, including her debut studio album of the same name. Polydor and Interscope secured a recording deal with Lana Del Rey. With the 2012 publication of her second album, Born to Die, she enjoyed both critical and financial success. Her worldwide hit, Summertime Sadness, was housed in the project.
